ECITB Introduction to Diversity and Inclusion

As an approved training provider for the Engineering Construction Industry Training Board (ECITB) we provide a specific training course titled “Introduction to Diversity and Inclusion”.

Equality, Diversity and Inclusion

With training standards and content approved by industry employers, the course covers diversity, inclusion and unconscious bias enabling candidates to make a positive impact in the workplace and includes discussions, practical exercises and reflection along with consolidation of the learning in the form of an end of course quiz.

The ECITB is the skills, standards and qualifications body for the development of the engineering construction workforce – the sector responsible for designing, installing, repairing and decommissioning process plant infrastructure in Great Britain. An arms-length body of the UK Government, the ECITB is funded by a levy collected from the industry, the proceeds of which are used to support employers train and upskill their workforce to industry standards.

For employers that are in scope, they can access grant funding from the ECITB towards the costs of this training. This helps not only budgetary pressures but also ensures the training presents the best possible learning outcome for delegates.

Modules include:

  • Terminology – what does it all mean?
  • Where has it come from?
  • Why does it matter?
  • Who is protected from discrimination?
  • What is acceptable/unacceptable behaviour in the workplace?
  • Other obligations of the employer
  • A focus on disability and mental health
  • Tackling unconscious bias and promoting inclusion

The training can be virtual or in person at your offices or ours and can be delivered in cohorts of up to 15 delegates. Each training session lasts six hours including breaks.
