Bethany Slack

Bethany started her first seat as a Trainee Solicitor at Birketts in September 2022. She is currently in her third seat in the Banking and Finance Team, in our Cambridge office, where she supports the team in advising both lenders and borrowers in all aspects of general corporate lending and real estate finance transactions.

Bethany’s first seat was in the Commercial Property Team. In this seat she assisted the team with a variety of leasehold and freehold matters for regional and national clients, including the acquisition and disposal of commercial property, drafting leases, and strategic land development transactions.

Bethany’s second seat was in the Private Client Advisory Team in our Norwich office, where she assisted the team with drafting Will and Power of Attorney documents, trust creation and administration of estates. She also supported the team with wider estate considerations, including Inheritance Tax and succession planning.

Prior to joining Birketts, Bethany graduated from the University of East Anglia with a first degree in law before achieving a Distinction in the Legal Practice Course. She completed electives in Advanced Commercial Property, Employment and Private Acquisitions. During her time at university Bethany developed many transferrable skills by volunteering with Victim Support, assisting in the UEA Law Clinic Employment Team and organising the UEA Law Society Negotiations Competition.

Bethany is the charities secretary for the Norwich and Norfolk Junior Lawyers Division and assists the committee with supporting local and national charities through fundraising initiatives.

In her spare time Bethany enjoys being outdoors, especially paddle boarding and kayaking along the Norfolk Broads.
