Debbie joined Birketts in 2008. She is a Chartered Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives, Collaborative Lawyer and family mediator. She qualified in January 1992.
Debbie’s experience places her in high regard within the Legal community. Debbie advises business owners, professionals and farmers amongst others on family law issues including the financial consequences of relationship breakdown, matters relating to child, divorce, separation and disputes over jointly owned property. She also has a keen interest in pre-marital agreements.
Debbie works closely with colleagues in other departments to ensure best advice and strategy as well as other professionals such as accountants, financial advisors and family therapists/counsellors.
Debbie is adept at representing her clients in court if desired but offers a full range of alternative dispute experience having trained as a Collaborative lawyer in 2005 and also trained with Resolution as a Family Law Mediator in December 2010. This experience enables clients to choose the process that is best suited to them. Debbie aims to manage her cases in a professional matter but with the ability to explain complex issues in a straightforward way and to reach a successful conclusion in the most cost efficient way for her clients.
Debbie gained Resolution Specialist accreditation status in 2001 in Advanced Financial Provision 1 and Children Law. She trained as a Collaborative lawyer in 2005. She is a committee member of the Norfolk Collaborative Law Group and is a member of Resolution locally. In 2010 Debbie completed her training with Resolution as a family law mediator. She is a member of East Anglian Family Mediators.
Debbie is recommended and named as a ‘Rising Star’ by Legal 500 [UK 2024]. In an earlier edition, Debbie is described as “practical, diligent and intelligent”.
