Elliot joined Birketts as a Trainee Solicitor in September 2020. 

He is currently sitting in his fourth seat with the Property Litigation and Commercial Property Teams in our Chelmsford office. While with the Property Litigation Team, Elliot will be assisting with a broad range of property disputes, including between commercial landlords and tenants, residential and commercial possession cases and freehold land issues. While in the Commercial Property Team, Elliot will be assisting with a variety of matters, including the acquisition and sale of freehold and leasehold property, as well as drafting and advising on commercial leases and development land transactions.

Elliot’s previous seat was in the Real Estate Investment Team in our Norwich office, where he assisted with a range of matters including the acquisition, disposal, financing and asset management of high-value commercial property portfolios. Elliot has experience of dealing with matters on behalf of landlords and occupiers as well as on behalf of both borrowers and lenders.

Elliot’s first seat was in the Commercial Property Team in our Norwich office. During his seat, Elliot assisted with a variety of matters, including drafting leases and sale contracts, producing reports on title for prospective property purchases and assisting with various development land transactions. Elliot’s second seat was in the Private Client Advisory Team where assisted with a range of wills, probate, trusts and personal tax matters.

Prior to joining Birketts, Elliot completed the Legal Practice Course at BPP University in Cambridge, achieving a distinction classification, before spending 12 months working as a Paralegal at a leading City law firm.

Elliot graduated from the University of East Anglia in 2018 with a First Class degree in Law and European Legal Systems, which included a year studying abroad at the University of Lucerne in Switzerland. During his degree, Elliot volunteered at Norfolk Community Law Service and was an active member of many societies, including serving as President of the UEA Baseball & Softball Club.

In his free time Elliot enjoys playing and watching most sports, being a keen cricketer and an avid fan of Cambridge United. Outside of sports, Elliot enjoys planning his latest travel adventures, having recently travelled through Italy (part of which was in a bright yellow 1950s Fiat 500!) and across Switzerland.
