Harriet joined Birketts as a Trainee Solicitor in September 2020. Harriet is currently in her final seat in our Employment Team in Chelmsford.

Harriet spent her first seat in our Commercial Property SIPPS Team in our Ipswich office. Harriet gained experience in both property law and SIPPS/SSAS regulations assisting the team with freehold and leasehold acquisitions and disposals, the grant of leases and post-completion formalities. 

Harriet’s second seat was in our Commercial Property Team in Chelmsford. Harriet assisted the team with a range of commercial property work and gained an insight into housebuilding transactions working alongside the Housebuilding Team.  

Harriet spent her third seat in our Private Client Team in Ipswich where she assisted the team with the administration of estates, inheritance tax advice and planning and the drafting of Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney.

Prior to joining Birketts Harriet graduated from the University of Bath with a 2:1 degree in French and Politics. Following this, Harriet completed the Graduate Diploma in Law at the University of Law (Moorgate) and went on to achieve a Commendation in the LPC MSc in Law, Business and Management, also at the University of Law. Harriet completed electives in Commercial Law, Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence and Family Law.

Between university and starting her training contract, Harriet worked for a leading SIPP provider in the Property Acquisitions and Disposals Team. Here Harriet gained experience in SIPPS, property transactions and commercial leases.

In her free time Harriet enjoys travelling, socialising with friends and family and playing sport. Harriet has played racket sports and hockey since childhood and currently plays for Ipswich and East Suffolk Hockey Club. Harriet is the internal communications and social media representative for the hockey club and is part of the committee. Harriet likes to get involved in fundraising events and is passionate about the environment and animals.
