Oliver joined Birketts in September 2020 as a Trainee Solicitor.
He is currently in his fourth seat with the Family and Matrimonial Team. He is currently based in our Cambridge office and assists clients with a range of issues including divorce, financial disputes and disputes involving children.
His first seat was with the Agriculture Team, where he gained experience in farming sales and acquisitions. His second seat was with the Banking and Finance Team, where he assisted the team in advising both lenders and borrowers on corporate lending and finance transactions. His third seat was with the Private Client Advisory Team where he assisted the team in advising clients in relation to wills, succession and tax planning and the taxation and administration of trusts.
Prior to joining Birketts, Oliver graduated from the University of Manchester with a First Class degree in Law. After university Oliver completed the Legal Practise Course (LPC) at BPP University Cambridge, where he received a distinction and completed electives in Private Acquisitions, Advanced Commercial Litigation and Family Law.
Whilst at university Oliver took part in a number of volunteering and pro-bono activities. He volunteered at The University of Manchester Legal Advice Centre, where he was able to offer legal advice to clients under the supervision of qualified solicitors. He also volunteered at the Manchester Civil and Family Courts.
In his free time, Oliver enjoys playing football and tennis. He also currently assists with the Suffolk Law Clinic and Anglia Ruskin University’s [email protected] service, which offers help and support to litigants in person in family proceedings.
