Birketts has advised offsite construction software company, KOPE AI Limited, on its £5.5m seed round fundraise.
KOPE AI’s software is the only purpose-built software platform for offsite construction. It allows construction companies to seamlessly integrate prefabricated products into their projects, promoting offsite construction throughout the design process to improve efficiency, reduce costs and waste, and help to deliver sustainability goals.
The seed funding will advance the development of KOPE’s offsite construction platform, aiming to accelerate the shift away from traditional construction.
The funding round was led by Socii Captial, with participation from Autodesk, Saint-Gobain, Barton Malow Ventures, Halking Private Capital and Luck Investment.
Birketts’ team advising KOPE AI was led by Caroline Nicholls (Legal Director, Corporate) and included Faye Power (Solicitor, Corporate) and Anthony Metcalfe-Gibson (Senior Associate, Employee Incentives).
Speaking about the fundraising, Mark Thorley, Co-founder and CEO of KOPE, said: “This latest fundraising gives us further confidence that KOPE will support those in our industry looking to adopt prefabrication and offsite manufacturing. With these key industry partners and their broad experience, we are excited about this next phase of our journey. Our thanks goes to Caroline and the team at Birketts, whose expertise and sound advice guided us seamlessly through the process and played a huge role in the success of the fundraising.”
Caroline Nicholls, Legal Director, Birketts, said: “We were extremely pleased to have supported the KOPE team through their latest fundraising round. KOPE AI is leading the charge in the shift away from traditional construction and we’re looking forward to seeing this funding take them to the next level.”
