UK Top 50 law firm Birketts has advised Ziegler UK on the successful acquisition of Comac Freight Services.
Ziegler UK, part of the Ziegler Group, is one of the leaders in the transport and logistics market in the UK, with a network of 15 offices across the country and over 250 staff members.
Driven by Ziegler’s strategic move to expand their reach in the Ocean Freight market, the acquisition of Comac Freight Services, which is based in the UK port of Southampton, further strengthens its position as a leading player in the industry.
Comac Freight Services has been an independent company for over seven years with founders Philip Copland and Julie MacGregor sharing over 60 years of industry experience. Both Copland and MacGregor will remain with the company as it transitions to Ziegler Southampton in the near future.
The acquisition was led by the Birketts team of Alex Forwood (Corporate), Alex Price (Corporate) and Robbie Watson (Corporate Tax).
