Birketts continues remote training successes

Off the back of a number of e-learning successes from the Shaping Excellence Team including the highly successful Equality, Diversity and Inclusion course, Birketts have continued to deliver sessions boasting the high quality full learning experience characteristic of a classroom delivery.
Employees from The Port of Felixstowe were the latest delegates to receive remote training on the topic of Union Engagement and Birketts’ team are delighted to announce that this latest session was met with further positive feedback.
Using the WebEx tool, the team delivered another expert session offering all of the key benefits provided in a face-to-face setting. As with all of Birketts’ sessions, as long as delegates have a stable internet connection and a suitable device (such as a laptop, phone or tablet) they can complete the training anywhere. Despite the continued challenges presented by a shift towards remote working, as a result of Birketts’ flexible course structure, the delegates were able to reap the rewards of a training course without delay.
Lauren Singleton from the Port of Felixstowe commented: “Engaging, interesting and highly enjoyable, Birketts’ remote Union Engagement training really delivered. Featuring a mix of tests, quizzes and coursework, the session provided everything we would expect from a face-to-face training session and ensured that delegates of all abilities felt included. The e-learning package was every bit as sophisticated as anything we would expect in a classroom scenario, speaking to a range of learning styles through the use of slides, voting exercises and interactive break-out tasks. The extensive ‘behind the scenes’ work to ensure that knowledge was successfully embedded was evident, with the various ‘homework’ tasks in particular contributing to the cohesion of the material. We were very impressed by Birketts’ attention to detail and would be confident in undertaking another of the team’s tailored e-learning solutions – especially in the current climate.”

What would have suited two half days delivery in a classroom setting was adapted to be delivered in hour long slots to enable the course to still be delivered during lockdown in a bite sized format to ensure delegates did not get screen tired and give the delegates time in between sessions to reflect and consider the materials and discussion. One of the positive outcomes of remote working is that have proved we can still deliver our fantastic training offering remotely with high levels of interaction being maintained and achieve great feedback.”
