30 September 2021
The Legal 500 United Kingdom 2022 rankings (published online on 29 September 2021) once again recognise Birketts’ all-round excellence across a number of legal disciplines.
The legal directory lists Birketts as a ‘top-tier firm’ in 34 practice areas and the law firm has been recommended in a further 14 practice areas. Furthermore, 48 lawyers are listed as elite ‘leading individuals’, 16 lawyers are highlighted as ‘next generation lawyers’, and 35 lawyers are regarded as ‘rising stars’. Three individuals were also listed in the ‘Hall of Fame’, which highlights partners who are at the pinnacle of the profession: James Allen (Corporate and Commercial, and Banking and Finance), James Austin (Corporate and Commercial), and Max Roessler (Commercial Litigation). A total of 142 lawyers are mentioned by name in Legal 500 UK commentary for their standout contribution to respective practices.
Jonathan Agar, Chief Executive Officer at Birketts, commented: “With disruption on a global scale, everyone has had to find a way of adapting to meet the challenges posed in the last 18 months. The whole firm has worked exceptionally hard, under very testing circumstances, and these achievements are recognised and celebrated in these fantastic results.”
Jonathan concluded: “The glowing set of achievements reflect the growing complexity of the work the firm has advised on in recent years which often have an international connection. Our breadth of property and corporate deals, as well as the diversity of our private client advisory and litigation and dispute resolution work has helped us build a strong national reputation.”
The law firm may have further reason to celebrate shortly having been shortlisted for three national awards (all due to be announced in the coming weeks): ‘Legal Team of the Year’ at The EG Awards 2021, ‘Law firm of the year: The Independents’ (The Lawyer Awards 2021), and ‘Independent Law Firm of the Year’ (British Legal Awards 2021).
