Adam Brown

Solicitor

Experience

Adam undertook his training at Birketts and joined our Construction and Engineering Team as a Solicitor upon qualification in March 2018. During his training contract, Adam undertook both contentious and non-contentious construction work, which involved advising and preparing appointments and warranties as well as undertaking contract reviews for amended JCT contracts and bespoke letters of intent.

Adam now specialises in construction and engineering dispute resolution and handles all types of construction disputes for and on behalf of individuals and corporate entities including claims for extensions of time, loss and expense, variations, interim and final payments, defective work, professional negligence and the recovery of retention monies. He is experienced in bringing and defending claims and regularly acts on behalf of employers, contractors and other construction professionals in court actions. This involves progressing claims from their outset through the relevant pre-action protocol and issuing or defending court proceedings in both the County Court and the Technology and Construction Court. In addition, Adam has experience with alternative dispute resolution mechanisms such as mediation, expert determination and, most commonly, adjudication.

Further, Adam provides training sessions and presentations to clients on payment mechanisms, debt recovery options and case law updates.

Adam is based in our Ipswich office.
