Experience

Amy joined Birketts in September 2020 as a Trainee Solicitor. She is currently in her third seat with our Charities Team having previously spent time in our Banking and Finance and Commercial Property Teams. During her Charities seat Amy will be working with Liz Brownsell and Sinead Corcoran, spending time in both our Ipswich and Cambridge offices.

Before joining Birketts, Amy achieved Distinctions in her Graduate Diploma in Law and Legal Practitioners’ Course (LPC) with the BPP University. She chose Family Law, Property Law and Employment law as her electives on the LPC. Prior to studying law, Amy read Theology at the University of Edinburgh, and graduated with a First Class degree. Her dissertation looked into the role of the family unit during the witch hunts in Scotland.

Other Information

Over the summers Amy has worked with a Suffolk based animal charity that focuses on enabling people to stay with their pets when going through difficult times. The work enabled her to take her own dog to events for the charity, and to brighten other people’s days with his companionship.

In her free time, Amy enjoys catching up with friends who are based locally and in Scotland, and she enjoys exploring England’s history by embarking on mini “staycations” to soak up some of the UK’s rich heritage. She also enjoys getting stuck in with the CSR initiatives that Birketts has to offer, whether that’s helping to put on a cinema night or virtual auction, or deciding to embark on a hike in the Cumbrian hills to help raise funds for Walking with the Wounded.
