Peter Bartholomew

Peter joined Birketts as a Trainee Solicitor in September 2020 and qualified as a Solicitor with our Shipping and International Trade Team in September 2022. He is based at our Ipswich office. Prior to qualifying, Peter completed training seats in our Private Client, Agriculture and Estates, Shipping and International Trade, and Corporate teams.
Peter assists colleagues and clients with a variety of shipping litigation matters, including charterparty disputes and cargo claims.
Before joining Birketts, Peter graduated from the University of Warwick in 2017 with an Upper Second-Class Honours degree in History. Following his undergraduate degree, Peter completed the Graduate Diploma in Law at the University of Law’s Moorgate campus, attaining a Commendation. He then achieved a Distinction in the LPC LLM in Professional Legal Practice, completing elective modules in Private Client, Commercial Law, Advanced Real Estate, and Law and Business.’
Outside of law, Peter enjoys reading, sailing and rugby.
