Trainee Solicitor

Experience

Sam joined Birketts as a Trainee Solicitor in 2019. His first seat was with our Employment Team where he assisted with a range of matters, including drafting settlement agreements, contracts of employment and staff handbooks and assisting in tribunal proceedings.

Sam’s second seat was with our Agriculture and Estates Team. During this time he assisted in multiple first registrations of large estates, drafted reports on title for prospective property purchases, dealt with sales of land and assisted in general estate management matters.

Sam’s third seat was with the Corporate Team in the Norwich office. During this time he advised on fundraising rounds as well as assisting in acquisitions and disposals of companies in multi-million pound deals.

Sam is now in his final seat with our Corporate Team in our Ipswich office. 

Other Information

Sam graduated from the University of East Anglia in 2017 with a First Class degree in Law and then spent 12 months as a paralegal in a local conveyancing firm in Norwich. In September 2018, Sam went on to study the Legal Practice Course at BPP University in Cambridge achieving a distinction classification, including electives in Employment, Private Acquisitions and Advanced Commercial Property. 

During his degree, Sam volunteered at the Norfolk Community Law Service spending time in the Employment and Discrimination Legal Advice Service, before eventually becoming the Team Leader in 2016.

In his free time Sam enjoys playing golf and watching football. Outside of sports, Sam enjoys travelling having hiked Machu Picchu and hopes to visit more wonders of the world in the future.
