Dominic joined Birketts in February 2021 as a Trainee Solicitor with his first house in the Social Housing Team in London.
He has previous experience dealing with a variety of different contentious matters for housing associations throughout the country. He spent the majority of his time advising and conducting litigation related to dilapidation claims and has been praised for his commercial awareness and practical approach to resolving claims.
In previous years, Dominic worked for a national practice doing similar work and helped clients prepare for changes to the sector following the passing of the Homes (Fitness for Human Habitation) Act. Dominic also has experience in the criminal courts, defending clients against claims made under the environmental protection act.
Due to the changes made to the personal injury market the social housing providers have seen a significant increase in the amount of claims made against them and Dominic and his colleagues have developed a specialist skillset in defending these claims. Dominic has previous experience in both the construction and insolvency industries and brings this knowledge to his work now.
