Elizabeth joined EC3 Legal in 2019 (prior to its merger with Birketts) and is a Trainee Solicitor. She completed her Legal Practice Course in London and previously worked at a multinational law firm where she was based in London. Elizabeth started her legal career as a Paralegal where she developed transaction management and client-facing skills in the Capital Markets practice. She also gained valuable secondment opportunities at Nomura International plc and Société Générale, where she was able to learn and provide hands-on client care, drafting and negotiation skills.
Since joining EC3 Legal, Elizabeth has been assisting within the Litigation and Corporate teams, but with a focus on dispute matters. Assisting insurer clients on insurance claims matters with respect of coverage issues, assisting the team with file management, legal research and case law analysis.
Elizabeth advised a client on a contract dispute with respect of an events cancellation issue as a result of the government’s lock-down measures (COVID-19), which she successfully negotiated with the other party and gained a favourable result for the client. Elizabeth also advised an EU client on a debt claim in relation to enforcement actions and the relevant procedure to register a foreign judgment in the High Courts in England and Wales. Elizabeth also has experience assisting clients with compliance and regulatory issues on conduct rules with respect of the Financial Conduct Authority.
Elizabeth is now in her final seat in the London Corporate Team. She is currently working on a share purchase transaction assisting with legal research and drafting. She endeavours to work closely with the London Corporate Team, but is also looking forward to working with the wider Corporate Team in Birketts where opportunity arise.
Originally from Hong Kong, Elizabeth is bilingual in both English and Cantonese, as well as proficient in Mandarin.
