Elizabeth joined EC3 Legal in 2019 (prior to its merger with Birketts) and is a Solicitor. She completed her training contract with Birketts and was admitted to the roll of solicitors in April 2021. Elizabeth has now qualified into the Insurance Team assisting within the Corporate and Litigation Team based in London.  

She completed her Legal Practice Course in London and previously worked at a multinational law firm where she was based in London. Elizabeth started her legal career as a Paralegal where she developed transaction management and client-facing skills in the Capital Markets practice. She also gained valuable secondment opportunities at Nomura International plc and Société Générale, where she developed hands-on client care, drafting and negotiation skills.  

Elizabeth works with the Dispute Resolution Team in respect of insurer clients on claims matters in relation to coverage issues, file management, legal research, case law analysis and documents review. Elizabeth assists the Corporate Team on a range of corporate matters, such as general M&A deals, company formations and general Company Law advice. She also has experience advising insurers, brokers and insurance intermediaries on regulatory and compliance issues.  

Elizabeth advised a client on a contract dispute with respect of an events cancellation issue as a result of the government’s lock-down measures (COVID-19), which she successfully negotiated with the other party and gained a favourable result for the client. Elizabeth also advised an EU client on a debt claim in relation to enforcement actions and the relevant procedure to register a foreign judgment in the High Courts in England and Wales. 

Originally from Hong Kong, Elizabeth is bilingual in both English and Cantonese, as well as proficient in Mandarin.

Other Information

Outside of work, Elizabeth enjoys walks in the countryside with her dog, doing yoga, the occasional sketching and has great passion. Elizabeth also enjoys the occasional gardening.
