Experience
Lee is an Associate in the Social Housing Team in our London office and joined Birketts in January 2021.
Lee specialises in acting for housing associations, local authorities and major house builders in relation to residential development transactions with a social housing focus.
Lee has extensive experience dealing with all aspects of residential development and has been involved in the full lifecycle of schemes from site acquisition through to the asset management of estates, disposals, and all transactional property work that arises during this process.
Lee has worked on numerous property disposal transactions including the sale of developments, the sale of commercial buildings, the grant of commercial leases and plot sales. Lee is also experienced in reviewing, reporting on and varying s106 agreements, negotiating nomination agreements in addition to acting on infrastructure transactions that are essential to residential development.
All of this experience ranges from sites of less than 10 units to large scale regeneration projects of more than 10,000 units and everything in between.
Examples of recent work include:
- Negotiating an affordable housing agreement for the bulk acquisition of a large volume of affordable properties from a major national house builder;
- Acting on the sale of a residential development that was under construction to a small housing association, which included the drafting of a development agreement, multiple deeds of novation and a charge;
- Negotiating the variation of a s106 agreement for a development comprising over 300 properties to include amendments to nomination provisions and the mortgagee protection clause;
- Negotiating a range of infrastructure documents for a large residential regeneration project comprising of over 3000 new homes.
