Will joined Birketts in February 2021 as a Senior Paralegal and operates in our Social Housing Team in London.
He has experience in dealing with a variety of contentious and non-contentious matters on behalf of large landlords and local authorities across the country. The bulk of Will’s time is spent dealing with contractual disputes relating to tenants and third parties. He is praised on his ability to conduct effective pre and post-action litigation and provide robust commercial advice to achieve the best possible conclusion for Clients.
Due to changes in the personal injury market, the housing sector has been hit with a surge of dilapidation claims and Will has developed a specialist skillset in the defending of civil claims for disrepair and “fitness for human habitation” and protecting organisations who are criminally prosecuted under the Environmental Protection Act. He also provides general advice to clients on repairing covenants and other obligations and assists clients with training on internal procedures and best practice.
Prior to starting at Birketts, Will worked for a national practice doing similar work. He achieved a Distinction on both the Graduate Diploma in Law and the Legal Practice Course (with MSc in Law, Business and Management) and starts his Training Contract with Birketts in September 2021.
