Chris qualified as a Solicitor in July 2002 and joined Birketts in 2005. He is a Partner in our Agriculture Team.

Chris specialises in agricultural land transactions, both in respect of sales and purchases and also acting for landlords and tenants in relation to agricultural tenancy issues. Chris has a particular specialism in acting for landowners in relation to renewable energy leases and leads the firm’s agricultural banking function acting for both banks and landowners in relation to secured borrowing. He also deals with a wide range of private client work including lifetime tax planning.

Chris is based at our Norwich office.

Chris is a member of the Agricultural Law Association and the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners. Chris manages the firm’s involvement in Norfolk ProHelp, a scheme by which local firms provide professional services to charities, voluntary groups and the like, on a pro-bono basis. 

Chris is named by Chambers [UK 2018]. Sources have complimented his stating that "he's very proactive, and he's great at dealing with complex matters - he never seems to get flustered". Previous editions note that he is "very thorough, with a real eye for detail".
