Michael joined Birketts as a Trainee Solicitor in September 2020.
Michael is based in our Norwich office and is currently sitting with the Agriculture and Estates Team in his second seat. In this role he will deal with a variety of areas, such as agricultural tenancies; farm and land acquisitions and disposals; secured lending; succession planning; and general estate management matters.
His first seat was spent with the New Build Team, and in this role he dealt with many aspects of developments including site set up arrangements; drafting transfers and leases; infrastructure easements; highway and drainage agreements; planning and title enquiries; and post completion matters.
Prior to joining Birketts Michael graduated from the University of East Anglia with a BA Honours in History, before completing the Graduate Diploma in Legal Studies with a Commendation at UEA. After this Michael went on to achieve a Merit in the Masters of Law Legal Practice at BPP University in Cambridge, where his electives were Employment Law, Debt Finance, and Advanced Commercial Property. Here his research project focussed on the law around third-party sexual harassment in the workplace and how this could be amended.
