Experience

Rosie joined Birketts as a Trainee Solicitor in 2017 and qualified as a Solicitor in to the Employment Team in September 2019. Rosie is based in our Norwich office. 

Rosie has assisted with a variety of matters advising both employees and employers on a broad range of both contentious and non-contentious matters. Examples of Rosie’s work include:

  • Preparing and reviewing employment contracts and policies to ensure they are fit for purpose;
  • Preparing and handling Employment Tribunal claims;
  • Advising employers when they face disciplinary or grievance issues; 
  • Assisting employees resolve workplace issues;
  • Dealing with issues that commonly arise on termination (for both employers and employees); and 
  • Providing advice to individuals and business on settlement agreements. 

Rosie also delivers our Shaping Excellence training courses, which provide in house training to clients, covering a range of topic including employment law essentials, discrimination, and employee representative training. Rosie frequently presents at our breakfast seminars and annual conferences.

Rosie prides herself on getting to know her clients (both individual and corporate) and building relationships so she can understand their specific needs and ultimately meet their objectives. As Rosie grew up in a farming family, she has a particular understanding and interest in the agricultural sector and the unique issues that arise in that setting. 

Other Information

Rosie is President of the Norwich Junior Lawyers’ Division and is a committee member of the NewGen networking group. 

Rosie graduated from the University of East Anglia with a degree in Law with American Law after spending a year abroad attending South Texas College of Law in Houston, Texas. 

During her degree, Rosie was an active volunteer at Norfolk Community Law Service, a charity based in Norfolk. Rosie joined in 2013 and went on to develop a keen interest in employment law, eventually becoming Team Leader for the Employment and Discrimination Legal Advice Service. 

Rosie achieved a distinction in her Legal Practice Course at BPP Law School in Cambridge. 

In her spare time, Rosie enjoys spending time outside with her horses and Millie, her kitten. Rosie also loves to travel, in particular to places where she can enjoy snowboarding or scuba diving.
