Experience

William joined Birketts in June 2018. He is a Solicitor in our Corporate Team.

Before joining Birketts, he worked for a leading national law firm for six years where he qualified as a Chartered Legal Executive and then as a Solicitor in August 2017.

William has a pragmatic and balanced approach, working with his clients to record their transactions and business relationships in the best way possible. He enjoys working with a wide variety of businesses and the wide variety of work and advice they need often working with his client’s accountants, banks etc.

William deals with a wide range of corporate matters, acting for a range of clients including SMEs and individuals. He advises on a range of corporate transactions including acquisitions and disposals acting for both buyers and sellers as well as corporate business recovery work – mainly non-contentious corporate insolvency matters, including administrations and pre-pack acquisitions..  

William is also experienced in franchising particularly in advising franchisees and potential franchisees on the acquisition and disposal of franchises. William has also worked on a wide variety of other corporate transactions including advising lenders and borrowers in respect of general corporate lending.

William is based in our Norwich office.

Other Information

William studied for the Graduate Diploma in Law at the University of East Anglia and Legal Practice Course at Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge. He is a District Councillor in South Norfolk, first elected in 2007 and re-elected in 2011, 2015 and 2019.
