Adam Burden qualified as a Solicitor into our agriculture and estates team in 2017 and became a Legal Director in 2025. He is based in our Sevenoaks office.
Since joining the agriculture and estates team, Adam has gained a wealth of experience acting for landowners, farmers, agri-businesses, landed estates and others across a full range of agricultural, landed estate and viticulture matters.
His experience includes advising on the acquisition and disposal of farms and rural property; general estate management matters; complex land transactions including pre-emption agreements, option agreements and overage agreements; and secured lending.
Adam is named as an ‘Associate to Watch’ by Chambers [UK 2026].
Adam is a Fellow of the Agricultural Law Association and a Council Member of the Kent County Agricultural Society.
Recent work highlights
Advising a client on a purchase out of a landed estate including 500 acres of farmland together with residential properties and commercial units. The purchase also included the negotiation and agreement of a multifaceted overage agreement.
Advising a farming partnership in respect of retirement of outgoing partners, transfer of land and buildings, re-financing, the resolution of various property issues arising and registration of unregistered parcels.
Advising an agri-business client in respect of a business restructuring alongside multiple cross-office teams to effect a retirement and separation of businesses alongside the transition of property and business assets.
