Andrew joined Birketts in April 2023. He advises and acts for lenders and borrowers on general corporate lending and real estate finance transactions.
Andrew completed undergraduate degrees in business and law at the University of Hong Kong before completing the Postgraduate Certificate in Laws. He completed his training contract at the Hong Kong office of an international law firm, where he had seats with, among others, the Banking & Finance, Corporate and Real Estate teams, where he was exposed to transactional and regulatory matters of a wide variety. He qualified into the Financial Services team of that firm, advising financial institutions and businesses on various financial services regulatory matters, before transferring to the Banking & Finance team at the same firm where he acted for various globally or regionally recognised as well as local banks, financial institutions and businesses in corporate lending, real estate finance, acquisition finance and other kinds of credit facility transactions.
Andrew was admitted as a Solicitor of the High Court of Hong Kong in March 2020, and a Solicitor of the Senior Courts of England and Wales in May 2024.
Recent work highlights
Advised Denbury Homes in securing a revolving credit facility of £55m from HSBC UK Bank Plc for the purpose of refinancing existing developments and further financing for the acquisition and development of future sites.
Advised a leading global facilities service provider in securing receivables financing facilities from a French factoring service provider.
Advised a commercial property business in securing a term loan facility of £10m from a UK bank for the purpose of refinancing the purchase of certain properties.
