David joined Birketts in September 2022 as a Trainee Solicitor.
David is in his fourth seat, based in our Cambridge office, assisting the Intellectual Property Team with contentious and non-contentious work.
This builds on his third seat, working in the London Employment Team advising a wide range of employers and employees, and supporting the Corporate Team with employment due diligence on mergers and acquisitions.
In his second seat, David worked in the Chelmsford Commercial Property Team, assisting clients with large and small property transactions, including leases, sales, acquisitions, and title registration issues.
His first seat was in the Norwich Corporate Tax Team, where he gained experience in the tax ramifications of employment situations, property transactions, and corporate acquisitions.
After graduating from the University of Oxford with a 2:1 degree in History, David worked for eleven years in business, including eight years as a company director, gaining commercial and paralegal experience in real estate, HR, construction, M&A, fashion retail (including the intellectual property aspects) and natural resources.
Converting to law, David achieved a Distinction on the LPC at BPP University in London, with electives in Employment Law, Commercial Law & Intellectual Property and Advanced Commercial Property.
