David joined Birketts in September 2022 as a Trainee Solicitor, and qualified into the Banking and Finance Team in September 2024.

During his training, David worked in the Norwich Corporate Tax Team, Chelmsford Commercial Real Estate Team, London Employment Team and Cambridge Intellectual Property Team, gaining wide experience with contentious and non-contentious matters, particularly in relation to property transactions and corporate mergers and acquisitions.

In the Banking and Finance Team, David assists with loan agreements, legal charges, debentures and corporate authorisations.

After graduating from the University of Oxford with a 2:1 degree in History, David worked for eleven years in business, including eight years as a company director, gaining commercial and paralegal experience in real estate, HR, construction, M&A, fashion retail (including the intellectual property aspects) and natural resources.

Converting to law, David achieved a Distinction on the LPC at BPP University in London, with electives in Employment Law, Commercial Law & Intellectual Property and Advanced Commercial Property.
