Elizabeth is an Associate in the Social Housing Team.
She has joined us from a local authority where she was a senior in-house litigator and Deputy Monitoring Officer with extensive experience of working in the public sector, including all three tiers of local government, the police, the NHS and in insurance support.
Elizabeth’s practice includes all contentious matters regarding social housing, including possession, anti-social behaviour, disrepair, injunctive relief, the impact of the Equality Duty under the 2010 Act, and regulatory prosecution including statutory nuisance under the Environmental Protection Act. She also is an extremely experienced panel legal adviser and Committee Officer.
She also has experience of the planning regime as it applies to affordable housing including S106 agreements, Community Infrastructure Levy, viability challenges and other very controversial planning applications and inquiries in public.
Elizabeth is especially experienced in complaints handling including matters involving particularly aggressive, persistent and vexatious complainers, and matters involving data protection and freedom of information issues.Elizabeth has extensive experience of dealing with disputes engaging public law principles in housing matters and otherwise, including judicial reviews and other regulatory issues.
