Georgia is an Associate within the employment team, having qualified in September 2022.

Georgia advises employers on a broad range of employment law issues, supporting clients across the full employment lifecycle. Her work includes advising on day-to-day HR matters, employment contracts and policies, disciplinary and grievance issues, and the management of workplace disputes. She also advises on contentious matters, including Employment Tribunal claims and breach of restrictive covenants.

Georgia works with clients across a range of sectors, including healthcare, and forms part of Birketts’ private healthcare sector group. She provides clear, practical and commercially focused advice, and is experienced in supporting clients to manage risk and resolve issues effectively, taking a pragmatic approach tailored to each organisation’s needs.

Recent work highlights

Successfully defended complex disability discrimination and whistleblowing claims on behalf of a private healthcare client within a compressed timetable. The work involved preparing detailed advice on prospects of success, managing an extensive disclosure exercise, responding to multiple interlocutory Tribunal applications, drafting witness statements, and coordinating witnesses at a five‑day Employment Tribunal hearing in Edinburgh.

Drafted bespoke agency terms of business on behalf of an end‑hirer and advised on compliance with the Conduct Regulations 2003, together with forthcoming employment law changes specifically impacting end‑hirers.

Advised an overseas client on the UK employment law implications if establishing and operating a business in the UK, including compliance with the Working Time Regulations, National Minimum Wage, employment documentation and commercial risk.
