Georgie is an Associate in the commercial real estate team in our Cambridge office.
Georgie’s work includes commercial freehold and leasehold acquisitions and disposals, landlord and tenant matters and development-related property issues across a range of asset classes, including retail, offices, mixed-use schemes and development land. She also advises on wider estate management issues, helping clients progress transactions while protecting their commercial position.
She supports developers with site acquisitions, site set-ups and plot sales, and regularly negotiates easements and transfers for utilities and service media, ensuring appropriate rights are documented for ongoing operation and future disposals.
Georgie has particular experience advising higher education providers and other educational institutions and charities, supporting day-to-day property requirements as well as longer-term estate and portfolio objectives. She works closely with clients and wider professional teams to align legal documentation with operational requirements and project timelines.
Recent work highlights
Working with one of the UK’s largest property investment and developments firms on leasing, disposal and wider asset management matters across its commercial portfolio (including retail and office assets).
Working with an Oxbridge College on its city-centre portfolio of multi-let commercial buildings in connection with high value FRI (full repairing and insuring) business leases to corporate tenants, tailored to align with campus operations and student welfare requirements.
Supporting a higher education provider with ongoing estate and portfolio asset management, including advising on the real estate workstream for an institutional merger. This involved progressing the property aspects of the transaction and helping the client assess the target institution’s estate strategy and existing third party arrangements. Given the scale and complexity of the campus, the advice was wide ranging and focused on identifying key property risks early and aligning the documentation with operational requirements and future estate plans.
Advising an established landowning real estate developer on long-term portfolio strategy, including strategic disposals to developers and housebuilders to support wider development objectives.
