Julia joined Birketts in December 2015 and is a Senior Associate in our Commercial Real Estate Team in Cambridge. Julia has a broad range of experience within the commercial property industry.
In terms of sector experience, Julia acts for a wide range of clients with significant experience in:
- Secured Lending – acting for mainstream high street lenders, individuals, commercial borrowers and alternative funders relating to mixed portfolios, developments and refinancing, with a focus on mobile home parks and residential development. Julia has been a key member of the team in a number of challenging high value portfolio transactions.
- Landlord and Tenant – advising on all aspects of the landlord and tenant relationship, including drafting/ negotiating leases, complex agreements for lease, licences, deeds of variation, deeds of surrender and assignments.
- Corporate support – providing property support and advice on commercial and corporate transactions.
- Sales and acquisitions – advising both buyers and sellers in relation to acquisitions and disposals of commercial real estate (both single and portfolio properties) including drafting/negotiating conditional and unconditional contracts and complex transfers of part.
Julia understands the pressures faced by clients in the market, she takes a commercial and pragmatic approach to matters ensuring transactions are not delayed. Julia is calm, assured and measured under fire; she instils trust, confidence and reliability in her practice.
Outside of work Julia enjoys spending time with her twin boys who keep her very busy.
