Kellen joined Birketts as a Trainee Solicitor in September 2025 and is currently in his second seat in the commercial and technology team in the Norwich office. He assists the team by reviewing and drafting a range of commercial documents.
Kellen’s first seat was in the charity property team, where he supported charities and not-for-profit organisations on property matters, including incorporations, mergers and restructurings.
Prior to starting his training contract, Kellen worked as a Paralegal in the utilities team, providing commercial support to statutory undertakers on electricity, gas, fibre and water transactions connected with large commercial and residential developments.
Kellen graduated from the University of East Anglia with a first-class law degree and completed the LLM Legal Practice (SQE 1 & 2) at the University of Law in Moorgate, London. During his time at university, he volunteered with Norfolk Community Law Service and participated in the Street Law project, acting as an ambassador for engagement with higher education in local schools.

Advising Florence Nightingale Hospice Charity on a strategic merger with South Bucks Hospice
Kellen supported the charity property team in completing due diligence and providing strategic property advice to Florence Nightingale Hospice Charity across a diverse portfolio, including care facilities and retail premises. The property work was managed to coordinate with the merger and operational timetable.
