Kellen Webber

Kellen joined the Commercial Property Utilities Team as a Paralegal in October 2023 and is based in the Ipswich office.

Kellen delivers full support as part of a specialist legal team to enable the effective implementation of gas, electric, fibre and water infrastructure in commercial and residential developments.

Working with developers and utility providers, Kellen completes initial title register reviews and checks for any restrictions affecting the land of the proposed development. The initial title check information is then uploaded into Birketts’ bespoke Utilities software. Appreciative of the often-tight deadlines involved with utility connections, Kellen adopts a proactive approach and will raise any potential land rights issues with the client at the earliest opportunity.

Acting for both Distribution Network Operators (DNOs) and Independent Distribution Network Operators (IDNOs), Kellen has assisted with the installation of a range of utilities infrastructure, such as electricity substations, gas governors and fibre cabinets.

Kellen also provides administrative support to fee earners and the wider team, for example by liaising with the Land Registry and ensuring that client’s deeds are safely stored.

Kellen graduated from the University of East Anglia in July 2023 with a First Class LLB Law Degree. During his time at University, he participated in the Street Law programme, which aims to improve access to higher education by delivering presentations and workshops to local schools. He also volunteered at Norfolk Community Law Service, a charity providing free legal advice to the local area.

After completing the SQE assessments, Kellen will begin his training contract and become a Trainee Solicitor with the firm in September 2025.
