Laura joined Birketts in September 2022 as a Trainee Solicitor and she now sits in the Commercial Litigation Team assisting with a wide variety of disputes relating to breach of contract, commercial debt recovery, insolvency proceedings, international transactions and contentious trust and probate.
Laura’s last seat was in the Public Sector Team, working on public procurement, commercial contracts, grant agreements, governance and property transactions.
As an undergraduate, Laura studied History and Politics at Goldsmiths College, University of London. Laura then attended the University of Law, where she achieved a distinction for the MA Law and the Legal Practice Course PGDip. Laura reached the finals for both the University of Law mooting and client interviewing competitions. Laura’s master’s dissertation advised online content sharing service providers on their liability for user generated content.
During her studies Laura worked for a South Essex Member of Parliament, she was responsible for communications and assisted with constituency case work. She also volunteered as an advocate with the South Essex Advocacy Service.
Prior to joining Birketts Laura worked for the Financial Ombudsman Service as an investigator.
