Lily Proudfoot

Lily joined Birketts in August 2023 as a Paralegal in our Charities Team. Lily deals with a wide range of matters for charitable organisations, such as charity incorporations, mergers and governance advice. Lily also provides support on Charity Property matters, including acting for both landlords and tenants, assisting with Land Registry dealings and pre- and post-completion responsibilities. Lily is based in the Ipswich office.

Before joining Birketts, Lily worked at the University of Leeds in the School of Law as a Teaching Assistant. This involved teaching on undergraduate modules including Company Law, Land Law and Torts Law, and delivering seminars and skills workshops to a diverse student body.

Lily previously graduated from the University of Leeds with a First Class LLB Law degree and was awarded a prize for achieving the highest degree average among her cohort. In her dissertation, Lily analysed homonormativity in the legal sphere and advocated for substantive reforms to tackle inequalities. Her paper has since been published in the Leeds Student Law and Criminal Justice Review Journal.
