Markella Papadopoulou

Markella is a dual-qualified Solicitor and a member of our Shipping and International Trade Team since September 2023.
In 2021 Markella joined the marine insurance team of another leading law firm and since then she has gained broad experience in advising clients in relation to contentious marine insurance disputes. More specifically, Markella regularly deals with subrogated recoveries and uninsured losses claims on behalf of insurers and their policy holders. Her caseload mainly consists of contractual claims (i.e. against goods and services suppliers, surveyors or private yacht owners), claims in negligence, in bailment and collision claims (racing and non-racing).
Following her qualification, Markella has also been assisting our wider shipping team with a broad range of contentious matters, including charterparty disputes and cargo claims.
