
Michael is a Solicitor within the Agriculture and Estates Team, having joined the firm in September 2020.
Michael is based in our Cambridge office and joined the firm in September 2020 as a Trainee Solicitor. Upon qualification in September 2022, Michael joined the Agriculture and Estates Team. Michael works with colleagues across the firm and advises on a variety of agricultural land transactions for a range of clients, from private individuals, trusts, and partnerships to estates and other enterprises. This includes agricultural tenancies; farm and land acquisitions and disposals; easements and option agreements; secured lending; succession planning; farming partnership work; and general estate management matters.
Michael is a member of the Agricultural Law Association and Country Land and Business Association.
Prior to joining Birketts, Michael graduated from the University of East Anglia with a BA Honours in History, before completing the Graduate Diploma in Legal Studies with a Commendation at UEA. After this Michael went on to achieve a Merit in the Masters of Law Legal Practice at BPP University in Cambridge.
Recent work highlights
Michael has recently worked on a number of succession planning and partnership matters in order to assist family farming enterprises with structuring their affairs. Alongside this, Michael has maintained a practice of core transactional work that includes acquisitions and disposals of farms and estates, and other estate management matters.
