Having worked in local government for over twenty years before joining Birketts, Nicky has a wealth of planning knowledge that she uses to advise developers, individuals and local authorities.
Nicky focuses on negotiating complex s106 agreements on behalf of her clients and has a solid grasp of the Community Infrastructure Levy Regulations. She regularly advises our clients in respect of the very difficult area of CIL and planning agents and colleagues send their clients’ to her for her expertise on this highly complex area of law.
Nicky also has a strong background of assisting her litigation colleagues with Judicial Reviews that relate to planning issues.
Recent work highlights
Successfully judicially reviewed the London Borough of Council for a client who was prejudiced by a neighbour obtaining planning permission without proper consultation taking place.
Negotiating complex s106 agreements with several developers in respect of a strategic site on behalf of a local authority to ensure the agreements between them meet the policy requirements for the site.
Acting for a world renowned recording studios to ensure potential development adjacent to the studios would not cause disruption for the artists using the studios.
