Rachel is a Partner at Birketts LLP and leads the agriculture and estates team in the firm’s Cambridge office and she also heads Birketts’ agricultural and estate finance team.
A Solicitor since 2001, Rachel has specialised in agricultural law for more than two decades. She is tri‑qualified in England, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland, giving her the benefit of a cross-border perspective.
Rachel advises a broad range of clients, including landowners, farming families, estates, agribusinesses, rural enterprises and lenders of all varieties. Her experience covers the sale and purchase of farms and estates, agricultural tenancies, farming business structures, succession planning, clean energy and diversification projects, and agricultural real estate finance. She is recognised by Legal 500 for her technical expertise, commercial insight and her pragmatic, solutions‑focused approach.
A Fellow of the Agricultural Law Association (ALA), Rachel sits on the ALA Council and currently chairs the Eastern Region Group. She is also active within the wider rural community, having co‑founded the Bury St Edmunds Rural Professionals Group and supported charitable organisations including RABI. She has also served for many years as a steward at the Suffolk Agricultural Show.
