Sunday is an Associate in the Property Litigation Department. He qualified as a Solicitor in November 2018 after completing his training contract at a local firm in London.

Sunday has experience in dealing with private and commercial clients on a range of contentious and non-contentious property disputes especially those involving the ownership of property under the Trusts of Land and Appointment of Trustees Act 1996 (‘TOLATA’). Sunday has been called upon to advise private individuals on equitable disputes in the family/domestic sphere and disputes arising from validity of declarations of trust.

Sunday can also advise on a wide range of disputes arising from repairing obligations, service charges, break clauses, deposits, breach of lease covenants, boundary disputes, right to manage (RTM) claims, contested lease extension/enfranchisement claims for both commercial and residential property and other contractual terms in tenancy agreement. Sunday has significant experience in a wide variety of commercial and property litigation claims.

Sunday also has expertise in advising commercial and residential possession proceedings including section 8 and section 21 notices, anti-social behaviour injunctions, neighbours disputes, cases involving rent arrears, disrepair matters, and general landlord and tenant disputes.

Prior to joining Birketts, Sunday worked for a City law firm in London where he worked as a Property Litigation and Housing Solicitor.

Sunday is a member of the Property Litigation Association (PLA). He is also a member of Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (ED&I) Committee of the Property Litigation Association (PLA).

Sunday has previously appeared on a live BBC Radio 1Xtra Talks where renters’ rights and future of renting were discussed particularly the impacts of Covid-19 on landlords and tenants.

Sunday studied Law at Maastricht University, The Netherlands where he obtained both LL.B and LL.M before completing the Graduate Diploma in Law and Legal Practice Course at the University of Law in London. Sunday also graduated from Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Nigeria with 2:1 in B.Sc [Hons] Political Science.

In his spare time, Sunday is a Parent Governor of Village Infants School in Dagenham.
