Based in the Norwich office, Lucy is a Trainee Solicitor and now sits in her fourth and final seat in the Corporate Team where she assists the team on a range of corporate matters, including disposals and acquisitions, group re-organisations, and general company law matters.

Lucy sat in the Employment Team for her third of four seats. She assisted with a range of contentious and non-contentious matters for both employers and employees, including employment tribunal claims, settlement agreements, contracts of employment, managing sickness absence, disciplinary and grievance issues, redundancy, TUPE and equal pay.

For her second seat, Lucy sat in the Banking and Finance Team where she supported the team in advising both lenders and borrowers in all aspects of general corporate lending and real estate finance transactions.

In her first seat, Lucy worked as part of the Agriculture and Estates Team, where she assisted with a wide range of matters including buying, selling and leasing agricultural property, complex land transactions, and general land management.

Prior to commencing her training contract with the firm in September 2022, Lucy worked as a paralegal in the Real Estate Finance Team at the firm, which advises lenders and borrowers on all aspects of secured lending in matters ranging from small business loans to multi-million pound facilities.

Prior to joining Birketts, Lucy graduated with a high 2:1 degree in LLB Law from The University of East Anglia, and a Distinction in the Legal Practice Course from The University of Law. Throughout her studies, Lucy worked at a local law firm, providing support to various departments including residential conveyancing, family, and criminal law, as well as volunteering for housing advice centre, Shelter, and conducting multiple outreach projects with the UEA Law Society to introduce young students to Law.
