Birketts advises buyer of Cotswold Eggs Ltd
7 March 2019
Cotswold Eggs was established in 1972 and their eggs are sourced from local farms in the Cotswolds and surrounding areas. The wholesale business supplies premium quality eggs to retailers, including large supermarkets, farm shops, hotels, pubs, guest houses and restaurants.
Birketts advised the buyer, Imogen Woolhouse, on all legal matters. Ed Savory, Legal Director in Birketts’ Corporate Team and Head of Food, led the transaction supported by Kris Nelson (Commercial Property).
Imogen Woolhouse, said: “Birketts did a cracking job and it was a pleasure to be advised by a commercially-minded legal team who were willing to guide us through the process. Ed has been on hand from the very start right through to completion, giving me the reassurance I needed on each step of the way.”
Ed Savory commented: “Imogen is a former Google Industry Head and has the perfect set of skills to take the business forward. The Coulson family has established a really eggs-cellent family-run business and it is the ideal time for new ownership to be able to take it to its full potential. This promises to be a very egg-citing venture and is certainly a business to watch (not egg-nore). My apologies for the woeful egg puns – I couldn’t resist!”
