Birketts advises East Anglian care provider on two successful acquisitions

Birketts’ Corporate Team has advised Black Swan Care Group on the successful acquisition of Thomas Tawell Care Home from Vision Norfolk and St George’s Care Home in Beccles from previous operator Wellbeing Care.
Thomas Tawell Care Home is a specialist 37 bed care home for the visually impaired. Black Swan saved the home from closure and after a period of management completed the acquisition of the home at the beginning of December.
Also completed in early December was the acquisition of St George’s Care Home in Beccles from previous operator Wellbeing Care. The acquisition formed part of Black Swan’s growth plans, adding to its track record of acquiring troubled care homes and turning them around to be given outstanding status.
Corporate Partner, Greg Allan led both transactions. Greg was assisted on the Thomas Tawell Care Home acquisition by Leanna Romano (Corporate), Andrew Ridout (Property), Rebecca Bond (Property) and Catherine Hepworth (Employment). On the St George’s Care Home acquisition, Greg was assisted by Leanna Romano (Corporate), Sam Varney (Corporate), Stacy Aspden (Property), Alex Chisnall (Property), and Catherine Hepworth (Employment).
