Andrew Ridout

Andrew qualified as a Solicitor and joined Birketts in September 2011.

He is a Legal Director in our Commercial Real Estate Team. He acts for a variety of corporate and private clients based both locally and nationally, ranging from landlords and tenants to banks and other funders and investors helping with acquisitions, disposals, refinancing and asset management. Andrew also advises on the property portfolios of several regional property investors, high street retailers and restaurateurs.

Andrew also regularly advises on secured lending matters for most of the main high street lenders, whether acting for the bank alone, or for the bank and their borrower jointly. He played a key role in setting up and supervising a specialist team of paralegals who act on behalf of the borrowers of a key banking client of a firm who choose to instruct Birketts on a dual representation basis.

Andrew supports the firm’s corporate teams on their banking and M&A transactions which involve a commercial property element.

Andrew has always had an interest in gadgets and technology, and this supports his role as his team’s ‘Tech Ambassador’, helping to drive forward the firm’s ambitious plans to install, adopt and use the latest technologies and software to realise efficiencies and deliver a reliable and consistent service to our clients.
