Claire qualified as a Solicitor in 2005 and joined Birketts in January 2020. She is a Legal Director in our Public Sector Team.
Claire specialises in a wide range of matters relating to public authorities, local authority trading companies and their governance. Claire has particular experience in the operation and governance of local authority trading companies, data governance issues including Freedom of Information and Data Protection, and public sector procurement. Claire also prepares and advises on various documents including service level agreements, agreements for goods and services and policy documents. Claire has also has wide ranging knowledge of Local Government including licencing, and advising members, and Council Committees.
Claire is an experienced Local Government Solicitor having been Legal and Governance Manager and Data Protection Officer of a Local Authority Trading Company and Lead Lawyer for Licensing and Litigation in-house at a Local Authority. Claire is also experienced in preparing training for clients.
