Rebecca is a Senior Associate within the Commercial Real Estate Team in Norwich.

Rebecca read law at the University of East Anglia graduating with a LLB (Hons) Law Degree in 2011 and qualified as a Solicitor in July 2014. Rebecca began her career as an in-house Trainee Solicitor at an insurance company where she specialised in commercial law and litigation. Rebecca was seconded to a large firm in Manchester during her training contract. Here Rebecca got to work in employment law and family law. Soon after qualification Rebecca joined a high street firm within their Commercial Property Team where she practiced all areas of commercial property until joining Birketts in October 2019.

Rebecca helps corporate entities and businesses secure property and property owners to lease or dispose of their commercial property. Rebecca focuses on a broad range of commercial property matters including landlord and tenant matters, acquisitions and disposals, refinancing, asset management and various development matters. Rebecca also provides support to the corporate and property finance teams. Rebecca has advised in a number of confidential high profile commercial property transactions. 

Rebecca is also part of the Birketts’ Food Industry Sector Team being one of the property specialists advising clients who operate in the food industry. Rebecca is able to assist with the broad spectrum of property matters which arise with businesses in this industry which can range from the purchase of a site facility, disposing of surplus property or advising on a lease commitment.

Rebecca’s clients say they appreciate Rebecca’s advice and communication. Commenting on exchange of a conditional contract for the sale of a development site the client noted “Excellent work, minimum stress and speedy!”

Rebecca is a volunteer for The Prince’s Trust and offers her support to Norfolk Community Foundation as a mentor specifically helping young women aged 18 to 30 who face particular challenges in moving on in education or employment.

In her spare time, Rebecca runs a social media account reviewing food and drink in Norwich and all over Norfolk. This means she gets to try and review a variety of restaurants, bars, pubs, take outs and delivery services in order to support and promote the local businesses. 

Rebecca also has a keen interest in sport and fitness and is an avid gym goer (if only to counter the food and drink consumption caused by the above). Rebecca is also a Second Dan black belt in Shotokan Karate, who has competed in both national and international competitions for the clubs England Squad.
