Charmaine joined Birketts in April 2016, qualifying as a Solicitor in May 2016. She is an Associate in our Commercial Real Estate Team.
Charmaine has experience in a wide range of commercial real estate matters particularly in the following areas:
- Landlord and Tenant – Charmaine acts for both landlords and tenants in connection with the negotiation and drafting of agreements for lease, leases, lease renewals, rent deposits, licence for alterations, deeds of surrender and assignments.
- Sales and acquisitions – Charmaine advises both buyers and sellers in relation to acquisitions and disposals of commercial real estate including drafting/negotiating conditional and unconditional contracts, transfers of whole and transfers of part, overage deeds and deeds of easement.
- Corporate support – Charmaine provides support and advice on the commercial real estate aspects of corporate transactions.
- Secured Lending – Charmaine acts for lenders, individuals, commercial borrowers and alternative funders in relation to purchases and refinancing of commercial properties.
Charmaine is also a member of our Independent Healthcare Team where she deals with acquisitions, leases and funding of real estate within the healthcare sector such as care homes, dentists, podiatrists, pharmacies etc.
Charmaine is based in our Cambridge office.
Charmaine is the co-chair of the Cambridge young professionals group and a member of the Cambridge junior lawyers division.
She is a keen hiker, regular gym member and musically trained in piano, violin and drums.
