Chay Clark

Chay is a Solicitor in the Property Litigation Team in our Chelmsford office.

Chay joined Birketts as a Trainee in September 2020 and qualified into the Property Litigation Team in September 2022.

Chay has advised on a wide range of contentious issues for both private individuals and commercial clients including lease renewals, forfeiture, repossessions, break clauses, breach of covenant, applications for consent, boundary disputes. Additionally, Chay has gained a range of experience assisting with residential property issues and disputes, such as drafting Assured Shorthold Tenancies, serving Section 8 and Section 21 Notices, commencing possession proceedings and assisting with deposit disputes.

Aside from spending nine months of her training contract in the Property Litigation Team, Chay also spent three months in the Commercial Property Team, Chay assisted with a range of services for housebuilders, developers and investors, including commercial property acquisitions and disposals, secured lending and leases.

Additionally, Chay spent her second seat in the Private Client Advisory Team based in our Ipswich office assisting the team on a range of matters including drafting Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney, estate planning and administration of estates. Chay’s first seat was in our Public Sector Team in the Chelmsford office. In her first seat she was involved in assisting local authority clients with freedom of information requests, data protection issues, state aid and public procurement as well as drafting Public Sector contracts. Chay also assisted on delivering GDPR and equality presentations to clients.
