Emma Bysouth

Emma qualified in 2016 and is a Legal Director in our corporate team based in our Ipswich office.

Emma advises on the full range of corporate matters, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, group restructurings and general company law. Emma has a particular specialism in corporate transactional work and regularly supports clients on the acquisition and disposal of businesses. She also has extensive experience acting on large, complex international transactions.

Emma leads Birketts’ automotive sector group, a multidisciplinary team with significant expertise in advising clients across the automotive industry. She manages several key sector relationships and has a strong track record of successfully advising on acquisitions and disposals within the automotive sector.

In addition to her transactional expertise, Emma is recognised for her pragmatic, solutions‑focused approach and her ability to deliver clear, commercially grounded advice. She particularly values the opportunity to build long‑term relationships with clients, supporting them through each stage of their business lifecycle.
