Emma Chiaramello

Emma is a Senior Associate in our Construction and Engineering Team and is based in our Chelmsford office.

She qualified as a Solicitor in October 2011 and joined Birketts in November 2016. Emma specialises in dealing with construction disputes for private and public sector employers, main contractors, sub-contractors, developers and other construction professionals, and in Building Safety Act matters. 

Emma’s experience includes resolving disputes by litigation, pre-action protocol compliance, adjudication and mediation. Such disputes often concern issues such as disputed works valuations, the recovery of payments, claims arising out of delays or defective works, professional negligence claims, and related project management advices.  Emma is also experienced in adjudication enforcement in the Technology and Construction Court.

Emma also advises clients on non-contentious construction matters, dealing with related negotiations for the agreement of contract terms and ancillary construction documents where required. Where possible, she assists with providing advice for the early resolution and/or avoidance of disputes.
