Jaden, or Jay as he is better known, joined Birketts in September 2021 and qualified as a Solicitor into our Commercial Litigation Team in September 2023. Jay is based predominantly in our Chelmsford office.
Jay acts in a wide variety of disputes, including in relation to breach of contract, international trade, insolvency, complex commercial debt recovery, director and shareholder disputes, and commercial fraud. He is a strong advocate of Alternative Dispute Resolution and strives to deliver commercially orientated advice to his clients.
Jay is passionate about social mobility and, as creator of Birketts’ Social Mobility Insight into Law Experience (SMILE) program and co-lead of Birketts’ Social Mobility Network, helps the firm develop its role in improving access to the legal profession for people from all backgrounds.
Prior to joining Birketts, Jay graduated from the University of Kent with an undergraduate degree in Law before achieving a Distinction in the Legal Practice Course alongside a master’s degree in Law, Business and Management, all whilst occupying various part-time jobs.

Being a core member of the team advising Thurrock Borough Council on it’s widely publicised, c.£150 million claim for commercial fraud.
Leading a team of lawyers from our Construction, Regulatory and Corporate Defence and Property Litigation teams in advising a client on a complex, multi-faceted dispute.
Advising senior colleagues on the contentious decoupling of the members of a joint venture LLP.
