Joseph Whinney joined Birketts in the commercial real estate team in May 2023, and was promoted to Associate in October 2024. He is based in our Ipswich office.
Joseph is experienced in advising on various aspects of commercial real estate including:
- Advising developers, promoters, and landowners on strategic land development including conditional contracts, promotions and option agreements.
- Acting for experienced corporate entities with large property portfolios and individual landlords and tenants on both new and renewal leases and conditional agreements for lease.
- Commercial conveyancing including the sale and purchase of bare land, industrial, and office space.
Joseph is focussed on achieving the best outcome for his clients and takes a keen interest in understanding their individual and business needs.
Recent work highlights
Advising developer clients on the acquisition of mixed use development sites, including consideration of overage and options to purchase.
Assisting corporate landlord with the acquisition and portfolio management of a 39 acre business park.
Advising developer on the acquisition of part of an existing residential development site with outline consent for 156 units.
